Join Marian as she takes her first trip through the Marvel Cinematic Universe with her brother Myke and cousin Patrick – the biggest geeks in her life. From 'Iron Man' to 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' they will watch one movie at a time, one week at a time to see if they can get Marian on board the MCU hype train.
Dread it. Run From it. Destiny still arrives. That moment is here. Thanos has come, and the fate of Marvel-less Marian lies in the balance. Missy Ladiona joins us for the Marvel event of our lives. Infinity War is upon us, and Marian has been so excited — to see if Tony Stark dies. In what’s going to be probably one of a few ‘Infinity War’ episodes, we break down the third, charmed, Avengers installment. It’s a mega-sized episode, full of spoilers. Find out how confused Missy was, whether we’d smash or pass Thanos, and was this movie good enough to make Marian cry.
It’s the big one, everyone. Well, no. Not Avengers: Infinity War but the first movie that Marian may have been more excited for than Patrick or Myke, which is saying a lot because they were very excited too. T’Challa goes home in Black Panther and we follow him to Wakanda – and kind of don’t want to leave. In this SPOILER FILLED EPISODE we get into how beautiful everyone is, how the movie balances awesome visual style with deep messaging with grace, and what this movie means for everyone. This might be the most well reviewed movie on the podcast, and it’s definitely the one that has been the most fun to record! As always listen below or on your smartphone via your favorite podcast app!
The God of Thunder is back, and for the first time – he’s actually bringing the literal thunder. Since this special installment in the franchise brings in a major player from the MCU – we decided to bring in our own special guest: Casey Causley! We get into the third Thor movie, what we loved, and what we kind of thought was okay, as well as who is the hottest character, what Hogwarts house everyone would get sorted into, and so much more! For our Homecoming episode, there was no better choice for a guest than our sister Missy – who happened to be home when Spider-Man came out (yes, we make this joke on the podcast – sue us). If you thought it was funny when Marian was baffled by seeing the MCU movies for the first time ever, you’re going to LOVE Missy’s take on everything. This was one of the funnest episodes to record, and one of the funnest Marvel movies to date! Spoilers beware!
Alright, enough of superheroes fighting each other. It’s time for a good ol’ epic fight to save the world – er, wait, galaxy. For the second time. In order to give this space epic it’s due, we did another crossover with Myke’s other podcast, “The Geekdom Fancast” and had Derek on to talk about the now TWO time galaxy savers! Is James Gunn a one hit wonder, or do we have a future Hall of Famer on our hands? Tune in, but be prepared to be spoiled!
Now back to our regular scheduled programming. We don’t have to tell you that Civil War has just been released upon the world – according to box office stats, you’ve found out. Maybe twice already. People have been ranting and raving about the film, but none of those people are Marvel (now full) Marian! We talk about the epic fued between our Avengers in a a completely SPOILER FILLED way.
Find out what teams each of the Marvel-less Marian hosts are on? (Spoiler alert, it’s the same one). Listen to the episode here, or subscribe to the show on your smart phone via your favorite podcast app by searching “Marvel-less Marian”.
P.S. this episode was mainly edited by Patrick! Like some of the heroes in this movie, he’s growing up!
To ring in the New Year (and so you don’t have to wait until Civil War to hear from us again) we’re bringing you a Marian-less Marvel-less Marian (say that five times fast). Since she only contractually agreed to watch all the Marvel movies (someone start a petition to make her watch the TV shows, too) Patrick and Myke decided to bring you their thoughts on all the Marvel TV shows that came out last year (except Agent Carter… which we both have to catch up on).
Once again you can listen to the episode here, or find us on your favorite podcast app through iTunes by searching ‘Marvel-less Marian’.
